Brought in a grande sonnerie carriage clock that had been sitting silent for years. The team was honest about the complexity from the start — six weeks, as estimated. It came back running and striking correctly. The written summary of what was done was a thoughtful addition I had not expected.

The crystal on my grandmother's watch had been cracked for years — I kept putting it off because I was worried about finding the right profile. They measured it precisely and sourced a match. Took about three weeks because it was a non-standard size, but they kept me informed throughout. Very pleased with the result.

Had a movement service done on my daily automatic. The watch had been gaining about four minutes a day. After service and regulation it was running within fifteen seconds over a week. That is the kind of difference proper multi-position regulation makes — I had not seen it before from a local repairer.

I was referred here for a carriage clock with a broken platform escapement. Wherever I had taken it before, nobody wanted to touch it. At Tanjung they knew exactly what they were looking at. The clock needed seven weeks in total, but the result was worth the wait. It now strikes correctly for the first time since I inherited it.

Simple crystal replacement on a dress watch I wear rarely but wanted to keep presentable. Straightforward job, completed in a week. The case came back cleaner than I had sent it. Appreciated that they checked and mentioned the gasket was starting to age — not upsold, just noted for future reference.

My father's mechanical watch had not been serviced in over a decade. I was not expecting it to be practical any more. The team serviced the movement, sourced one replacement part, and regulated it properly. The service log they provided listed everything in plain terms — I could understand exactly what had been done.

Case Study — Carriage Clock
A Silent Grande Sonnerie, Restored to Function
The Situation
A French grande sonnerie carriage clock, approximately 130 years old, had been silent for over fifteen years. Previous attempts to have it looked at had produced no result — repairers unfamiliar with the striking train mechanism had declined to open it.
The Work
Full disassembly revealed worn count wheel teeth and a broken repeat slide spring. Both were sourced through specialist suppliers. The platform escapement was serviced separately, and case glass panels reseated and polished. Total time: eight weeks.
The Outcome
The clock now strikes correctly on the hour and quarter hour and runs reliably within the expected accuracy range for a platform escapement of this vintage. The client received a full written account of every component touched.
"It has sat on my shelf for fifteen years. It now chimes the quarter and the hour. I did not quite believe it was possible."
Case Study — Movement Service
A Daily Wearer Returned to Accurate Service
The Situation
A Swiss automatic worn daily for eleven years, never serviced. Running significantly fast — gaining four to five minutes per day — and stopping intermittently. The owner had been adjusting it daily and assumed replacement was the only answer.
The Work
Movement fully disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned. Inspection found worn keyless works components and dried lubricant throughout. Replacement parts sourced for the worn components. Reassembly with fresh lubrication and regulation across five positions over three days. Total time: five weeks.
The Outcome
Running within eight seconds per day across a week of monitoring. The service summary noted the parts replaced and recommended the next service interval. The owner had not expected a watch at this age to return to that level of accuracy.
"I wore it for a week and checked it against my phone every day. It was consistently close. That is better than it was when I first bought it."
